Chamber Charities

Chamber Charities announced this year’s recipients of their scholarships. This year, the scholarship amount was raised to $1,500 per student due to the successful gala and other events that help raise monies for scholarships for deserving seniors.

Shayna Bane will be attending Baldwin-Wallace College this fall, with a plan to major in broadcasting and mass communication. She would like to have a restaurant in the Brunswick area and help our community through sponsorship and her involvement.

Christine Serva will be attending The Ohio State University as an accounting major. She hopes to open her own accounting practice in Brunswick. She plans to lend her accounting and organizing skills to local non-profit agencies.

Both girls graduated this past June from Brunswick High School.

Judging the scholarships were Amber Dalakas, Dalakas Business Services, Sandy Frommeyer, Medina Works/Goodwiill, Debbie Destro/BTS Services, Patrick Judd, Carole Kowell/Brunswick Library, Maureen Wulff/Life Care Center of Medina, Claus Meyer/Edward Jones Investments, and Carla Houdek/Mimi Vanderhaven’s Fabulous Buys.

By majority vote of the Chamber Charities members present at the 5/27/06 annual meeting at Diamond Event Center, the following Officers and Directors were elected, with terms as listed:
Claus Meyer (Edward Jones Investments), President, term expiring 12/31/2007
Patrick Judd (Mr. Chicken), Vice-President, term expiring 12/31/2007
Carole Kowell (Brunswick Library), Secretary, term expiring 12/31/2008
Melissa Krebs (Sky Bank), Treasure, term expiring 12/31/2006
John Wasylko (Brunswick City Schools), term expiring 12/31/2008
The proposed By-Laws were also adopted on that date by affirmative vote.
